I will go over a brief history of glass engraving including wheel engraving and the drill technique, and then I will give a demonstration on glass engraving with the drill technique.   • Glass Art Society Conference

    I am thrilled to announce that in May I will be giving a demonstration during the Glass Art Society’s annual conference. My demo will introduce the art of drill engraving through a brief overview of the tools used and the intaglio engraving process. This year's conference will be held in Tacoma, WA from May 18-21, 2022.

    My friend Antoinette Rosa and I are co-curating the Wave Art Show as part of the upcoming Wave Film Festival. The Wave Art Show will celebrate the beauty and conservation of the aquatic and marine environments with artwork by 13 artists, representing 5 states.

    This Saturday, October 12, 2019, I will be participating in the Ann Arbor Wayzgoose and Printing Festival, which celebrates the art of printing by hand. I will be bringing my vitreographs, which are prints I make using my glass engravings as a printing matrix. The festival will have exhibits, talks, printmaking opportunities and a vendor fair. I am excited to be exhibiting for the second time in this group exhibition. This year's exhibit will take place at Atrium Gallery, Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. The show runs from Sept. 27, 2016 - Oct. 28, 2016.

  • Microcosm

    My former marine biology teacher and friend, Michele Hoffman Trotter, is filming a documentary on microorganisms found in the ocean. She interviewed me for the documentary as an artist who finds inspiration in ocean life. My glass sculpture Pteropod: Limacina helicina is featured in the documentary as it is based on a real-life microorganism. The filming started this year so it won't be available for a while, but you can follow the progress of the film and check out a trailer and more information at www.microcosmfilm.com.

    In the meantime, come support the film at our fundraiser: Microcosm: An Evening of Art & Inquiry. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013 at Columbia College of Chicago, 618 S. Michigan Ave., 2nd floor.
