About Me

I am a Chicago based artist working predominately in glass engraving and stained glass. My love affair with glass began in 1999 when I took my first stained glass class. While attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA, 2012), I worked with a variety of mediums and continued to incorporate glass into my artwork. I also began experimenting with stained glass in unexpected and non-traditional ways, resulting in 3-dimensional stained glass sculptures.

In June 2013, I began glass engraving using the drill technique. Utilizing a handheld rotary tool with diamond, stone and rubber burs, I hand carve images into glass. In a direct extension of my glass engravings, I use my engraved glass plates for printmaking in a process called vitreography. Throughout the years, I have taken glass courses in fusing, lampworking and glassblowing. I took wheel engraving courses at The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass in 2017 and in Waterford, Ireland in 2019.

I’m drawn to glass as a medium for its transparency, translucency, colorful palette and versatile applications. It is a material that is visually appealing and powerful, yet can be extremely fragile and delicate. Inspired by the beauty and amazing variety of creatures found in nature, my artwork largely focuses on animals, sea life and plants. I use the fragility, colors and luminescent qualities of glass to capture and reflect upon the delicate nature of the world around us. My interests in Celtic knotwork and the artistic movements and designs of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods also influence and shape my work.


I am a member of the Glass Art Society, the Guild of Glass Engravers, the Stained Glass Association of America and the Chicago Art Deco Society.
